Boca de Guamá pier is where you take the boat bound for Villa Guamá, the Taino hamlet. It is a place of restaurants, shops and a bar.
It is here then, where taking the boat to the Taino hamlet, you cross the Laguna del Tesoro. The Laguna del Tesoro is one of the largest fresh water reservoirs on the island. It has an area of 9km2 and an average depth of 4 meters. Located in East Zapata Swamp, its crystal clear waters are famous for their trout population, many of great size, which makes the Lagoon the perfect place for fishing enthusiasts.
Across the road there is a crocodile farm and a kind of zoo, a place that you can visit to observe many specimens of crocodiles as well as jicoteas and manjuaries.
If you are hungry, why not try a crocodile steak in La Boca, one of the restaurants at the entrance to Boca de Guamá?
